Hotel Sogo extends help to communities in CamSur

Hotel Sogo continues to care as it ramped up its effort in helping the country’s indigent communities by reaching out to several communities in Luzon. Recently, it donated school supplies to over 300 school children in Triangulo Elementary School - Diversion Road, CBD II, Barangay Triangulo, Naga, and Oroc-Osoc Elementary School - Oroc-Osoc, Caramoan, Camarines Sur. Hotel Sogo also distributed long sleeve shirts and black out tarp cover from Hotel Sogo’s collateral materials for use as cover for tourist and fishing boats to 200 fisherfolks from Brgy.Paniman, Caramoan Camarines Sur. Short + Sweet Manila coming this September.

The much anticipated marathon of short plays is now coming back this September in Taguig City, the international franchise of Short + Sweet Manila 2015 now comes with around 30 short play this time slated for all the weekend of September at the Samsung Hall of SM Aura.

It is a festival of more than 30 ten minute plays featuring those aspiring actors, actress, playwright and directors from different fields mostly with no backgrounds in Theaters, it’s a competition as well wherein at the last week the best will be honored and awarded.

“Short + Sweet gives platform to everybody, not only theater person, but anyone from any background in life, and aspire to do theater.” Said by Vaishall Ray, this year’s Festival Producer.

Originally started in Sydney, Australia in 2002, Short+Sweet is now being held in more than 25 countries in the world annually, and it’s the second time here in Manila organized by Vaishall and her group.

“Manila is filled with a lot of talents, people are amazing here as far theater is concern, their performances are so powerful, and they love the arts and culture. Generally Filipinos are very artistic people, this could be the better place for Short+Sweet.” Added Ray.

Aside from short plays there will be classes held and its open to this year’s participants who passed the rigid auditions, and to those interested for a fee of P500. Among this year’s speakers who will conduct master classes are Jeremy Domingo for Voice for the theater on Sept 5, Joem Antonio for Compact Scriptwriting  on Sept 6, Ami Ramolete for Discovering the Art of Puppetry through Acting scheduled on Sept 12, Jac Vidgen for Optiman Breathing Techniques to empower performance and health-On and Off Stage on Sept 13. While Nicanor Campos and Christine Cojuangco will discuss Shakespeare Master Class by Sept 19, and Aruna Viswadoss will talk movement in drama on Sept 20.

Master classes are 10 12noon, wildcards are 2 to 4 in the afternoon and main shows are from 6 to 8 in the evening.
