Hotel Sogo extends help to communities in CamSur

Hotel Sogo continues to care as it ramped up its effort in helping the country’s indigent communities by reaching out to several communities in Luzon. Recently, it donated school supplies to over 300 school children in Triangulo Elementary School - Diversion Road, CBD II, Barangay Triangulo, Naga, and Oroc-Osoc Elementary School - Oroc-Osoc, Caramoan, Camarines Sur. Hotel Sogo also distributed long sleeve shirts and black out tarp cover from Hotel Sogo’s collateral materials for use as cover for tourist and fishing boats to 200 fisherfolks from Brgy.Paniman, Caramoan Camarines Sur. PETA’s “Night, Mother”: Raw and Golden

Opening its curtains for 2018, PETA brings an intimate production of the Filipino adaption of  Marsha Norman’s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama “Night, Mother”. The play, adapted by Ian Lomongo and directed by Melvin Lee, will be PETA’s culminating production for its 50th season. Set in EJK and Tokhang era of 2017, the play’s narrative revolves around the complex emotional and provocative issue of urban modern life. This two-woman play is a story of a night when a divorced woman, Jessie, reveals her plan of ending her life to her mother Thelma. Throughout the 90-minute course of the show, no intermission, would take the audience to rollercoaster of emotion as Thelma convinces Jessie how worth-living life is. Entering the intimate PETA-Phinma theater, cross-sectioned typical middle-class Filipino home will welcome you on stage. What Would Be Your Last Words?:“Night, Mother” Press Launch.

Putting the icing on the cake on its 50th season, the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) is set to stage Marsha Norman’s “Night, Mother” this coming February 2018. Adapted by Ian Lomogo and to be directed by Melvin Lee, the play will be starred by Eugene Domingo and Sherry Lara. Last December 6, 2017 a press launch was held for the first local production of the 1983 Pulitzer drama play “Night, Mother”. The event was well attended by the press and its production cast. Award-winning theater actress Eugene Domingo and Seasoned theater veteran Sherry Lara will take the lead roles in this Two-woman play as Jessie and Thelma. This intimate but emotionally complex play hopes to tackle provocative issue that comes with urban modern life. A 10-minute excerpt was performed at the event.
