Hotel Sogo extends help to communities in CamSur

Hotel Sogo continues to care as it ramped up its effort in helping the country’s indigent communities by reaching out to several communities in Luzon. Recently, it donated school supplies to over 300 school children in Triangulo Elementary School - Diversion Road, CBD II, Barangay Triangulo, Naga, and Oroc-Osoc Elementary School - Oroc-Osoc, Caramoan, Camarines Sur. Hotel Sogo also distributed long sleeve shirts and black out tarp cover from Hotel Sogo’s collateral materials for use as cover for tourist and fishing boats to 200 fisherfolks from Brgy.Paniman, Caramoan Camarines Sur. A Review by Aga Posadas Contributor At a time when "hipster" became "mainstream", there are some artists who strive not to be labeled, those who understand the true meaning of art. Immy Rempis' short film "Kalaw" is proof that budding filmmakers do not need to please a certain audience. The 16-minute film "Kalaw" explores the effects of sexual child abuse. Monik goes back to Kalaw, a river where she spent her childhood together with Bagyo and her younger sister Eca. As she and Bagyo live through the present, they reminisce their dark youth and raise questions that may never be answered. What really happened to Eca? How can they move on with their lives without the shadow of the past? "Kalaw" is one of the films in the New Breed category of the 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival which will be shown in cinemas together with Gymsnatch and Magkakabaung.
