Mabining Mandirigma return to CCP Little Theater this
2019 as opener for its 33rd season of Tanghalang Pilipino, as they
continue its advocacy of educating our new generations of historic past and
learn from our very own heroes that shape our nation today, and that is Apolinario
Mabini, the Filipino revolutionary leader, lawyer and statesman that is
identified because of his being a paralytic.
This year restaging is so far one of the refine compare
to its previous production, the music and lyrics is masterfully crafted, thanks
to Ejay Yatco who did some changes as the musical director, however it may
sound so pop this time and we find it okay for good.
It tells a biography story of Mabini, from his early days
working in a convent until further his study to law up to being an adviser to
the first republic government of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, the first President of
the Philippines. It also shows us his situation during exile in the US soil,
and how lonely life became one greatness due to his love for Inang bayan.
I may agree to some critic that the play is not only
centered and focus to its main goal in storytelling, there are some scenes that
are not needed anymore, they didn’t even answer the reason why Mabini became
paralytic, to which many young ones today are curious about it.
Monique Wilson is returning in Philippine stage via Mabining
Mandirigma after many years of living and working abroad, it is a good comeback
for her since the Mabini role is an iconic to portray from a woman perspective,
it is a joy a to watch Ms. Wilson in this restaging.
Historically this play is a good to watch, it provides a
lot of important dates and happening during the Aguinaldo term, it could be boring
but believe the production numbers are all good to understand it, colorful and
funny in a way.

Are you the kind of person that always looks to see what kind of expensive your neighbor's kid is playing? Or are you worried about what your friends are making as far as their salary? Not happy in your marriage, friendships, or not being satisfied with what you have at the moment? Some people are wondering, why despite the fact that I am just a stay-at-home mother and a not-so-full-time photographer, we are still able to manage to go through the day to day lives being happy and having no (or at times with quite a few) debts from other people. It's just a matter of perspective actually. You need to learn the art of contentment. Being content is not being driven by always wanting more. I know that ambition is a prized trait in our society. I am not saying that ambition is wrong. What I am saying is that the constant striving for more and not enjoying what you have or where you are at the moment will drive you crazy. Things do and will change. Have the at...
First day in the city (Wednesday, April 25th). Had to go to Palawan State University to pay for my daughter's entrance exam for 1st grade and submit the forms to the Guidance Office. We picked up Marnie at the office, for it's almost lunch time break. We headed to Ka-Inato, Rizal Avenue. I learned that this restaurant is partly owned now by Ka Lui's owner, hence the "Ka" in its name. Took us some time to decide on what to eat. This faucet really caught my attention. A closer look of the naughty faucet. Fresh Mango Shake for Marnie. As always, his all time favorite of all shakes! Fresh Guyabano shake for me and Mikyla. Hail on these fresh fruit shakes! Costs Php75 each! Taste: 10/10 of course! We all had the Original Chix Inato. This costs Php95.00 The best tasting chicken inasal in town! (IMHO). Juicy chicken! Also available in Hot and Spicy! Taste: 10/10 Another shot. I love triangular shape of...
