Quezon’s Game; is it really a game?

iWant Original Movie Quezon’s Game is enjoying its two weeks run now in Cinemas nationwide, the film that focuses on the legacy of the great President Manuel Quezon act to save Jews from death in the arms of Nazi’s.

The movie is presented in a lot of talking scenes, meeting here and discussion there, the first 30 minutes I was clueless on what is the main story that they are arguing, but in the long run its about the wish of the late President in saving the Jews and the pros and cons he is facing to bring in them here in the Philippines, and start all over again.

Raymond Bagatsing playing the Ama ng Wika  is prolific, there is time that he is changing his accent from Spanish to Filipino to English, all in a good manner and good acting prowess, the part that he is telling Osmena (Audie Gemora) about going to the Bathroom in the Whitehouse, is such a sincere act.

The movie focuses only on the angle of hiring Jews for the nation-building, however, they try to incorporate some scenes like the jealousy of  Dona Aurora, and of course the deteriorating health condition of Quezon during that time.

What good thing the movie made us realize is how beautiful Manila that time, we miss the water taxis and that Hotel De Oriente that we wish it stay until now, the look and feel of the mood is such a delight, not that much color but it takes you in the period where it is happening.

Yes it is more on talking but we do understand it, it is relevant and needed to execute this movie, of course, it is worth watching since I was educated, informed on this particular noble act of our great President, honestly I didn’t get bored the entire time.

Does it a game really? Yes, I think so, from card game that President play, it transcends to a legacy that one can understand why he asks for that even the impossibles became possibles for his request, and only a President can play such a game.
