Visiting the City in a forest, must include chasing the
majestic waterfalls of Puerto Princesa, we will give you the nearest waterfalls
inside the City that you can enjoy in a day, enjoy its refreshing waters and
the lush virgin forest.
Going south highway is the Masagana Falls in Brgy. Irawan,
take the entrance of the former PCSD office that serve as their training
centers now, go left up to the water pumping station and leave your vehicles there,
and then start the trekking, the trail is easy to follow and the main way is following
the river, yes most of the time you will cross or traverse the river until you
reach its peak. Walking going to the falls usually last for 1 hour.
Water Pumping station, the start of the trek.
Masagana Falls is a common public outing place of people
living in Irawan, and this is the nearest waterfalls in the city proper. The
trekking going there is an adventure, crossing waters, logs and mostly stones,
be prepare that most of the time you will step on slippery stones so a good
shoes is required, at some point you’ll be confuse to the trail, but the rule
is just follow where the river is coming.
Upon reaching Masagana Falls, a good swimming area will
welcome you and usually it have crystal clear water except after rain, the pool
area is really deep that we are not able to do some measurement due to extreme
coldness.
The trail is amazingly indeed, wild flora with great flowers,
colorful butterflies and frogs are common attractions. We also spot some unique
mushrooms that according to some locals are good to see at night because of its
luminous lighting.
The glow in the dark mushrooms.
But one thing I enjoy is those century old trees that you’ll
pass by, those gigantic trees with numerous squirrels that play along, and the
ambiance of virgin forest is such a joy to experience. Make sure you don’t forgot
to apply some mosquito repellant, the trail up to the falls is loaded with it
along with leeches as well in some parts mostly under big stones, and please
bring home your trash, no one will clean that for you.
From the busy streets of Puerto Princesa (City Proper) going
to Irawan usually take 30 minutes on a private vehicle, motor or even tricycle.
No entrance fee going to the falls.
Are you the kind of person that always looks to see what kind of expensive your neighbor's kid is playing? Or are you worried about what your friends are making as far as their salary? Not happy in your marriage, friendships, or not being satisfied with what you have at the moment? Some people are wondering, why despite the fact that I am just a stay-at-home mother and a not-so-full-time photographer, we are still able to manage to go through the day to day lives being happy and having no (or at times with quite a few) debts from other people. It's just a matter of perspective actually. You need to learn the art of contentment. Being content is not being driven by always wanting more. I know that ambition is a prized trait in our society. I am not saying that ambition is wrong. What I am saying is that the constant striving for more and not enjoying what you have or where you are at the moment will drive you crazy. Things do and will change. Have the at...
I was at a beautiful wedding recently, and I had a small moment of revelation about the meaning of wearing a wedding ring. It’s not an exaggeration to say that my understanding was turned completely upside down. Today I Found Out the history and symbolism behind the tradition of wearing a wedding ring and why, in most western cultures, it’s worn on the fourth finger of the left hand, otherwise known as the ring finger. Wedding rings today are a billion dollar sentiment of love, but no one can really say for sure when this age old tradition actually started. Some believe that the oldest recorded exchange of wedding rings comes from ancient Egypt, about 4800 years ago. Sedges, rushes and reeds, growing alongside the well-known papyrus were twisted and braided into rings for fingers an other decorative ornaments worn by the women in those days. The circle was the symbol of eternity, with no beginning or end, not only to the Egyptians, but many other ancient cult...
