PALAWAN’s very own Dance Guru/Master Jay
Loyola who is base in United States of America is being featured in “Sayaw”, a documentary film by Cecilio
Asuncion that will premiered this October in San Francisco, California.
Asuncion is the multi award winning director of the LGBT film “What’s the
T?” shown in 2012.

According to a report from Asian Journal.com,
Asuncion wanted to do a film that will show his Filipino side and as an artist
he show challenge and triumphs over Loyola’s story. The film will focus on
Loyola as Master Artist of Philippine Dance and his journey in putting up an
ethnic dance troupe that will compete in San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival. It covers the whole process from Dancer
tryouts, to rehearsals, to auditions up to the day of the competition. It also features some of Loyola’s talented
dancers.
Sayaw is produce by THigh Production of
Asuncion and Brian Anderson. Michael Garrigues is the director of the
Photography, while Benjamin Shearn is the editor. Music is composed by John
Piscetello and graphic design by Nicole Vallance. Premiere showing is on Oct 24, 2014, 7pm at
the New People Cinema at 1746 Post St, San Francisco California. Tickets are

Loyola before moving to US in 2008 is a
former Principal Dancer and Associate Choreographer of Bayanihan Philippine
National Folk Dance Company, he is the founder emeritus of Palawan Dance
Theater, he is notable also for the Dance Company of the then Holy Trinity
College now HTU, establish Events Solutions & Possibilities (ESP), a events
organizing group in Puerto Princesa and produce the first reality TV show in
Palawan via DYPR TV-7, the Star of Palawan. In California he created a dance
musical entitled “Huni ng Tandikan” that receives numerous praises in 2012.
