Re-Experiencing the Pista Y Ang Cagueban

Image
After more than a decade of not joining this event, I was able to experience it again. I asked my brother if I can hitch a ride with him on his way to work since he's doing his duty at Irawan, a few kilometers away from the planting site. But good thing he knew the bus driver sending off participants to the site, I transferred there.. :) Arrived at the site and there were so many participants, most of them already had planted seedlings..  These are the teens, the crowd that has already planted ahead of me.  The 2nd seedling I planted this day! I hope this will survive all the adversaries nature has.  I love the quote written on this shirt. True indeed! On my way home after planting trees. You can see the vibrant colors of tall trees surrounding the area. It's a great feeling that I was able to walk here again after such a long period of time.

Bears for Haiyan: A DIY Caridad Charity Bear Workshop (July 19, 2014)

Image
Typhoon Haiyan may have already happened around a year ago but the devastation that it left still lingers. To ease that, continues efforts must be done to be able to wipe away the tears and replace them with happy thoughts – especially that of the children of Tacloban. Teddy Bears have always brought smiles to the faces of children. And we, at Manila Workshops would not only want you to smile, but we also want other people to smile because of us. When we do this, we not only bring a smile to our faces, but also to our hearts. Manila Workshops, together with Luna MNL and BEME are happy to be able to be an instrument in creating happy memories for these kids through our workshop entitled, Bears for Haiyan: A DIY Caridad Charity Bear Workshop. We are inviting you, both young and old, to learn, have fun and bring a smile to the face of one child. In this workshop, you will learn how to make your own stuffed animals while being able share what you have. Part of the proceeds of...

The French Baker Experience (Sta. Lucia East Mall)

Image
It was my first time eating a full meal at this restaurant. I usually just bough breads here and not dine here. Grilled Chicken with Mango Salsa My daughter and I ordered this one, chicken meat is so huge that the rice served with it is not enough. Thought mango salsa wasn't that appealing for my taste. :) So spacious, maybe because there's no much customers that time  They have a free WIFI by the way, of which I enjoyed! LOL They also have a very attentive crew, fast and always on the go. :)  Each meal is served with a cup of soup, that time we were served with the meaty crab soup (i really don't know what it is called, but it's full of seafood.) I love the idea of the water they served with a slice of orange and mint leaves..  My rating: Food: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Crew: 4/5 Value: 4/5

Pure 'N Fresh for Teens

Image
It's back to school for my first born. She's a 3rd grader now. She's growing way too fast (well, for me).  Thankful that she's growing sweet, intelligent and somewhat responsible.  Now that she's growing, there are things that changes. Although she's not into playing at school, she sweat much, plus the humidity in the place added to that.  That's why, even at the very young age, I allow her to bring cologne to freshen up. Good thing that there are products like Pure 'N Fresh Cologne by UNILAB.  They have this packaging that have a cologne and a feminine wash- made for teens and tweens.  Although my little girl doesn't need the feminine wash yet, it's so nice to know that there are products like this that are available in the market,  My daughter loves the smell of this Tangerine Delight Cologne of Pure 'N Fresh .

Happy Father's Day Tatay!

Image
That's my Tatay with my daughters. On the left, Tatay with Mikyla Yzabel 2009 at Tarabanan Beach Resort On the right, Tatay with Moirah Yngrid 2014 at Buenavista Private Beach A true father is always there. He is there to spill tears of happiness when his eyes fall upon his infant daughter. He is there with arms to catch her when she takes her first steps or stumbles. He is there to teach her at the youngest age, even though she might not understand half of it. He is there to help her color inside the lines, make her grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup, and tie her shoes. He is there to hug her and kiss her on her first days of school, and to walk her in if need be. He is there to teach her and tease her and laugh with her. He is always there to embarrass her, but that’s part of life. He is there to tell her to go ask her mother, when her mother told her to ask him. He is there to lecture her, prepare her for the monster called high school. He is there to put up wit...

Life Schooling and Parenting Advice by Gladys Reyes and Thammie Sy

Image
“The most important thing you should do is be there whenever your children need you the most,” shared Gladys Reyes on what she learned as a mom.   Celebrity Mom Gladys Reyes shares her personal stories during the Baby and Family Expo PH 2013 At the Baby & Family Expo Philippines, organized by Mediacom Solutions, Inc., MTRCB board member, celebrity, entrepreneur and hands-on mom Gladys Reyes told the expo attendees that as soon as a woman enters the phase of motherhood, she’ll learn what unconditional love truly means. Reyes, a mother of three, said that there may come a time when one will feel guilty about not being home for hours to closely monitor the kids. But she emphasized that parents need not to choose between being a career person and a parent. The key is very simple: Give your kids the quality time they need. “It’s not about how long the hours are, it’s rather the quality you give to that allotted time,” she said. With the advent...

The Sudden Flight of Chiqui Rodriguez.

Image
37 Year old Abstract Painter Chiqui Rodriguez just recently opened the first  series of Sudden Flight last May 29, an exhibit featuring 20 artwork she masterfully created,  it’s in house at Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences in Salcedo Village in Makati City, hosted by Altromondo. Sudden Flight according to Chiqui is a tribute of how she glorifies the hardship and the heartaches of fellow Filipinos she met abroad way back 2012 in Berlin. “It’s a collection of painting referring to the after thoughts, after being understood the feelings of OFW.” Chiqui said. Acrylic is the medium she uses for all this artworks since according to her it moves freely along tunnels and it’s more similar to life, that if we do focus on a certain things it will go better and beyond. Technique use as explain by Chiqui is more of an engineering one wherein a body of liquid is in horizontal that in combination is the best way to convey her message. Sudden Flight is consist of 100 ...
