Egg Theater Company stages the dark comedy The Pillowman at the Pineapple Lab, translated in Filipino and directed by George de Jesus III. The play is originally written by Martin McDonagh. Set in an unidentified totalitarian state, fiction writer Katurian is interrogated by the police with the similarities of child murders in their town and his macabre stories. Katurian draws inspiration for his writing from his dark past, killing his parents for torturing his mentally ill brother. He does everything he can to save his works. His younger brother Michal is also grilled for admitting the numerous incidents of child killings. This is supposed to be a comedy. As some parts of the play may make you laugh, most of it will make you disturbed and breathless. This is the effect of the masterful acting of the cast. Starbucks Cambodia, only at Phnom Penh International Airport. (Photo by Ted Nierras) My recent travel to Cambodia has another story to tell, this is regarding my quest to buy a Starbucks mug and a tumbler in Phnom Penh. Two of my friend commission me to buy their well love collections of mug, however in my arrival in Siem Reap from Manila, I found out that there is no Starbucks store, and the only Starbucks Coffee shop is in Phnom Penh, and upon my research online, the said store is in Cambodia International Airport, but I miss the part that it is only inside the departure lounge, meaning you have to be a passenger in order to buy coffee or the said mugs. My recent travel to the Kingdom of Wonders is also filled of mouthwatering adventures, foods, delicacy, spices, flavors and exotic taste galore. Let me take you to some of their to die food, cook in Cambodian way. CHARMAN CHICKEN . From the tradition of prodigal son type of movies, now comes a Theater version but with very much different twist and drama, this is Victorio Concepcion’s Peratedes, a Filipino adaptation of “The House of Bernarda Alba, a Spanish play by dramatist Federico Garcia Lorca. Presented by Teatro Kaligatan Foundation, Inc ,  Peratedes is a re-run after its successful staging last year.
