This season will also mark the 24 years of Ballet Manila.

“No we're not expecting anybody from abroad this season, we have 5 principles dancers in the company
and so many capable soloists to dance the classic Giselle, the sleeping beauty,
we are doing an original Filipino ballet on the 25th season,” Macuja
said during its media launch last July 15 at S Maison Hall of Conrad Hotel.
The season will start with Snow White on September 7 and 8,
followed by the romantic ballet Giselle on October 19 and 20, and the yearend
show Sleeping Beauty on December 7 and 8 all this 2019, and two opera ballet
Carmina Burana and La Traviata are set on Feb 29 and March 1, 2020.
Carmina Burana (Erickson Dela Cruz)
“The most challenging ballet in On Pointe for me as a choreographer is not sleeping beauty, but La Traviata because for the first time I’m tackling tragedy, gone are the times I want to be funny now it’s like
super serious, there she dies, there is betrayal, there is a passion, there’s
lust, greed all the different human emotions,” Macuja explains.
BM Dancers with Osias Barroso and Lisa Macuja-Elizalde
This is the first time that Ballet Manila is doing the full length
of Sleeping Beauty, the piece is a three hour and half-hour long, but Macuja
did some adjustments, cut and update it to cater for the millennial crowd, and
of course, she wants a Dragon on stage.
All of On Pointe performances are staged at the Aliw Theater,

Are you the kind of person that always looks to see what kind of expensive your neighbor's kid is playing? Or are you worried about what your friends are making as far as their salary? Not happy in your marriage, friendships, or not being satisfied with what you have at the moment? Some people are wondering, why despite the fact that I am just a stay-at-home mother and a not-so-full-time photographer, we are still able to manage to go through the day to day lives being happy and having no (or at times with quite a few) debts from other people. Things do and will change. Have the at...
I was at a beautiful wedding recently, and I had a small moment of revelation about the meaning of wearing a wedding ring. It’s not an exaggeration to say that my understanding was turned completely upside down. Today I Found Out the history and symbolism behind the tradition of wearing a wedding ring and why, in most western cultures, it’s worn on the fourth finger of the left hand, otherwise known as the ring finger. Wedding rings today are a billion dollar sentiment of love, but no one can really say for sure when this age old tradition actually started. Some believe that the oldest recorded exchange of wedding rings comes from ancient Egypt, about 4800 years ago. Sedges, rushes and reeds, growing alongside the well-known papyrus were twisted and braided into rings for fingers an other decorative ornaments worn by the women in those days. The circle was the symbol of eternity, with no beginning or end, not only to the Egyptians, but many other ancient cult...
