A celebration of animals, flowers and fish, captivates
the first painting exhibit in the newly open Dark And Light Art Gallery in Don
Alejandro Roces Avenue in Quezon City, as they present the 7
th one
man Art exhibit of Angel Moreno last March 21, 2015.
Thirty pieces of his artworks mostly themed with his
subject of coy fishes, sunflowers, roosters, horses, and tigers, are up on sale
up to April 11, proceeds in each painting sold is given to Unilab Foundations,
on their Play It Forward project as the beneficiary.
Moreno’s work is simply brilliance since he is painting
in a very modern technique, not the usual art pieces you will see in some galleries,
he is recreating the picture to come alive when you are looking at it, he simply
called it embossed art that he admit a tough one to made due to layering of
paints and colors. Mostly he paints by laying down in order for the paint to be
perfectly assembled. His color combination using mixed media is something to
look forward, a unique one I must say.
A bisaya in blood, Moreno aside from being a painter, he
is also a multimedia artist who’s earlier talents includes being a film
animator, and acoustic singer in different bars in Manila. Currently a resident
of Quezon City, Moreno is an undergraduate of Fine Arts in University of the
Philippines.
In our interview, he emphasize that most of his works is
where his heart and mind, it can be notice through the evolution of colors he
uses in many years, from monochrome and
now to a 3D portrait.
