Hotel Sogo extends help to communities in CamSur

Hotel Sogo continues to care as it ramped up its effort in helping the country’s indigent communities by reaching out to several communities in Luzon. Recently, it donated school supplies to over 300 school children in Triangulo Elementary School - Diversion Road, CBD II, Barangay Triangulo, Naga, and Oroc-Osoc Elementary School - Oroc-Osoc, Caramoan, Camarines Sur. Hotel Sogo also distributed long sleeve shirts and black out tarp cover from Hotel Sogo’s collateral materials for use as cover for tourist and fishing boats to 200 fisherfolks from Brgy.Paniman, Caramoan Camarines Sur. Repeater wins Mrs. Globe Philippines 2016.

Like our reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach, this year’s crown Queen for Mrs. Globe Philippines is a repeater, 36 year old Fritzie Lexdy Noche a Dentist from Batangas join the pageant twice before hitting it this year, in a coronation ceremony held at Samsung Hall of SM Aura last Oct 23, 2016. Noche bested other 16 married and single mom that aims to be empowered and be the best versions of themselves. Noche is a former President of Philippine Dental Association-Batangas Chapter.  With a theme of dances, this year’s pageant also feature Mrs.Globe 2013 Sheryl Lynn Baas from Holland as a Dj during the swimwear competition. Carla Cabrera-Quimpo, MGP Managing Director announce that she is happy with last year’s ranking of Philippines in the Top 15, she also announce the inclusion of Mrs.Globe Philippines-Classic ages 46 to 55, the representative will compete June of 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada in USA. Juan Miguel Severo, the undisputed Hugot King of Spoken Words Poetry. A new festival of one act play and musicals is set to happen this November, with a common theme about love, Tatlong Linggong Pag-Ibig is the latest venture of Dalanghita Productions this 2016. It’s a three weekend theater that compose of six original Filipino one act show. Partee Brinas from Dalanghita explain that this was conceptualized a year ago, wherein they will showcase great but endearing short but not short theater play, it was time this coming November before the busy months of yuletide season happens. MCA Music newest recording star is now ready to take the spotlight, being a finalist in The Voice Kids in 2015, Kyle Echarri proves that he got what it takes to have a solo album even as early as 13 years old. His boyish charm, the crispy voice of a teenager, plus an acting skills is a perfect packages for him to conquer the big stage of his own. Talking with bloggers recently at MCA Music office, Kyle give us the comfortable smile and reason why we should love him, he explain that he didn’t expect anything to happen after not making to the finals of The Voice, under the arm of Coach Sarah Geronimo by then. “It’s very fun po, I was not expecting it to be as fun as it is, and because of MCA, Star Magic, Cornerstone, they believe in me. The most talk immersive Theater Experience ala Horror house version 2.2.2. is now returning this October in preparation for Halloween, this is Bahay Trese of World of Fun at the Sta.Lucia Mall in Cainta, Rizal. Like last year, Bahay Trese made a clamor to the public, due to its unique and high acting prowess of terrifying or should we say scaring anyone who will enter the house, as actors train by PETA Theater the plot surround the mysterious house where many lives have gone to nothing, and spirits still lives there since the massacare by Japanese soldiers. This time, Bahay Trese offer you the story of Mang Abe, the caretaker of the house, and the tour guide or curator that will bring you from one room to another room, until you unravel the mystery behind their agony. Crisostomo Ibarra and Simoun comes alive thru Dance.

The idealist, cynical and vengeful characters of Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo is coming to life via dance, as Ballet Philippines present under its 47th season, the Crisostomo Ibarra and Simoun of National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal. This double bill production is in line with Rizal’s 120th Death Anniversary, and the 125th year anniversary of the publication of El Filibusterismo. BP’s Artistic Director along with Jed Balsamo are the mind for the restaging of this two show, Morales for the Choreography while Balsamo provide the music. Their team up are also behind the musical Kanser@30 by Gantimpala Theater Foundation. Ibarra premiered in 2010 and has perform in more than 50 shows here in abroad, but this is the first time it will be stage in the main theater of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, and a first time for Simoun along with ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Gerald Salonga. Loyalist Redux explain that in manner where political issues and situations is dividing the nation, where majority have its own opinion, and while the rest are not inform at all. As part of the nine play presented in Never Again: Voices of Martial Law, produced by the newly form Ladies Who Launch at the Bantayog ng mga Bayani, in order to create positive information drive for the generation of today, to understand what happen during the Martial Law years in the Philippines, Loyalty Redux is definitely a perfect choice. This short play is under the Direction of Kanakan Balintagos, who also does Mga Buhay na Apoy last year with Tanghalang Pilipino, as expected it is a great directorial job for Balintagos, his own way of telling stories on stage is a literary piece. The newest offering of 9 Works Theatrical is one must see this October, not because it is the first time in Philippine Stage, but this play showcases three great theater actors of this season that will evolve your inner thoughts, on why is life like that, the why and the what life can offer versus the things we love to do over the things we have to do in order to survive. Tick Tick Boom obviously tell the struggling years of Musical genius Jonathan Larson, yes the man behind Rent The Musical, and composers of my all-time favorite song “Seasons Of Love”, it’s a monologue on how Jonathan narrate his passion in writing a play, creating songs, and his personal love life and his true best friend. Believe me, the music are all awesome, good to be free and really compelling to the point you’ll ask yourself, do I pass this stage of my life, how did I overcome it, and did I have fun?   What good thing about it, you’ll go out of theater happy and probably humming one of its...
