Image
In times like this, when almost everything is a bit expensive and the standard of living is getting high, it is not enough that you have a regular 8-5 job. You have to think of other alternatives to earn extra bucks.  Have you ever thought of putting up your own small business? An online store or a small cafe, or even a barbershop? These are among the choices that will give you an ROI in just a few months after putting it up.. Have you ever think of becoming a franchisee of one of the globally known company like the Supercuts? What Parents Should Know About Teething

Image
Teething is one of those anxiety-provoking stages that all babies go through. Unfortunately, teething has been blamed for almost anything untoward that happens to babies such as fever, cough and colds, vomiting, diarrhea, and so on . So first, let’s dismiss the myths about teething: Teething does not cause fever. Teething does not cause cough and cold symptoms. Teething does not cause diarrhea or loose stools. Second, is your baby for sure teething? Let’s consider the following: Timing is important. Even though there are some babies whose teeth erupt early, for the most part majority of babies experience this around six to nine months of age. Hence, it is very unlikely that a two-month-old baby would be teething—unless you in fact see the whitish edge of the tooth erupting from the gums. Typically, the first tooth to come in is the bottom, central one, followed by the upper central one. Drooling in babies is not a reliable indicator of teething. Four-month-o...

For the Love of Music

Image
I still recall growing up in a neighborhood that loves to play loud music. My father, particularly, would love to play songs every Sunday morning. Playing the songs of AirSupply, the BeachBoys, Patti Austin and the likes. I was like 7 or 8 years old then, my father never missed a weekend playing all his favorite songs the whole day! So, as I grew older, I learned to appreciate old songs. That's to blame why even up to now, I still love listening to old music. Isn't it wonderful to hear your favorite song being played with a very nice sound output using the top of the class speakers! It's always an investment spending much on high end products, some of which includes products like M-Audio BX5 D2 at Guitar Center which really provides a high quality audio. Now that I am a mother two, I also wanted to impart to my kids the beauty of being a music lover. Starting off with my first born, who loves singing. :) Beauty of old school music, classical ones, countr...

Kids at Play

Image
As promised, I brought the kids to the City Park to have a little walk and short play. It's been a busy week for my eldest for she's been reading a lot, reviewing for her coming 2nd quarter exams next week. I ask my father to bring us to the park and he gladly did, plus waited for us too. :) My Yngrid is kinda grumpy that time.. She's already sleepy the moment we left the house, hence no smiles on her photos Yngrid doesn't want to look at the camera.. :( Obviously so not in the mood.. But got the chance to capture one shot, when she's looking my way. Though not so nice shot.. At least, I have one. Trying to walk on her own, little steps.. With her favorite hand gesture now- "lagot ka" :) My ever ready model. My first born. She's no longer a baby... Perhaps a pretty young lady.. Time flies so fast! The big sister enjoying the walk..    And really having fun pushing her little sister's stroller.. Showing the whole plac...

Making Life Easy with Latch Clamp

Moving from one place to another is kinda difficult task, specially when you have loads of items to carry and move with you.  We have lots of boxes to transfer then, having a hard time moving boxes from one place to another.  If only there are things that can be used to make it easier to move one box securely, without breaking anything inside it.  Found out just a few days ago that there is a thing called Latch Clamp. I could have  used these  thing way back in 2010, could have made life a little bit easy. I can work easily, while something is needed to be fastened securely.  This item features: Secure toggle locking action Safe single handed operation Innovative controlled motion Simple setup and adjustment Clamp hook/arm moves and stays safely out of the way Will definitely recommend this to my father who's also a "handyman" at their house.. :)

It All Started as a Hobby

Image
It starts in many different ways. Some people started out using simple cameras, and later on found joy in capturing moments in still photos. Some are simply attracted to photography from the very beginning. While there are also others who got interested because they found out that they have a natural talent for taking pics.  For most casual snappers who finally decided that they want to take photography to the next level, the most common challenge is where to start. Newly decided photographers are unaware of the basics and fundamentals of photography.  You have to feel free when you are snapping and not mind everyone else. It is important to enjoy what you are doing. Stop getting conscious. Right now, it’s important that you get a feel first of everything.  After getting to know raw photography and spending time with your camera, it’s time to learn the fundamentals. Ideally, taking classes is the game changer. Some people though do not have the time; some ...

City Park at Night

Image
Last Sunday after church, we went to the newly designed (lighted) City Park in San Pedro (front of the City Coliseum). Took the chance to have another family photo. The park is now well-lit at night. Previously, it's dull and dark, "no life". Teenager sweethearts and by-standers favorite place to hang out. Lights were turned on every night to give life to the park and that the place will serve it's real purpose, to be used as a park for the residents of the city.  You will no longer feel unsafe because it's no longer dark here.   City Park is just 15 minutes away from the city airport. I am planning to bring the kids here at daytime so that they can enjoy playing here..
